Finding product handle

When importing customer reviews into The Vital using a CSV file, one important field to fill in is the Product Handle. The Product Handle corresponds to the URL of the product in your Shopify store. Including the correct product handle is crucial to ensure that reviews are linked to the correct products on your store.

Steps to Find the Product Handle:

  1. Access Your Shopify Store

    • Log into your Shopify admin panel and navigate to the Products section. This is where all your store’s products are listed.

  2. Find the Product URL

    • Select the product for which you need the handle. Click on the product to open its details page.
    • Alternatively, you can visit your Shopify storefront and search for the product directly. Open the product page by clicking on the product in the search results.
  3. Copy the Handle from the URL

    • In the product URL, look for the part of the URL that follows /products/.
    • For example, in the URL https://thevital-demo.myshopify.com/products/creme, the product handle is creme.
    • Copy this part of the URL. This is the value you need to enter in the handle column of your review CSV file.
  4. Ensure Products are Synced

    • Before importing the reviews, ensure that your products are synced on The Vital dashboard. This will refresh the product list and prevent any errors during the import process.

Common Errors and Fixes:

  • "Product not found" Error: This error may occur if the handle in your CSV file doesn’t match the actual product handle in Shopify. Double-check the product URL and ensure the handle is correct.
  • Sync Products: If you encounter issues with finding products, syncing your products from the The Vital dashboard will refresh the list and help avoid errors.

By following these steps, you can easily find and insert the correct product handles in your CSV file, ensuring a smooth review import process.
