Importing Reviews from Other Apps
Importing reviews from other review platforms or apps into your Shopify store using The Vital is a great way to consolidate all customer feedback in one place. Follow the steps below to easily transfer reviews from other apps into your store:
Steps to Import Reviews:
Access the Vital Dashboard
- Log into your Shopify store and navigate to the Vital Dashboard. This is where you can manage all aspects of your store’s reviews.
Navigate to the ‘Manage Reviews’ Section
- In the Vital Dashboard, find and click on the Manage Reviews tab. This section is the hub for all your review-related activities, including importing reviews from other platforms.
Prepare Your Review Data for Import
- To import reviews from another platform, you need to export your reviews from the original app in a CSV format.
- Ensure your CSV file matches the Vital Review Template. If necessary, adjust your data to fit the following fields:
customer_email
, customer_name
, rating
, review
, handle
, status
, source
, review_images
, review_date
, reply
, reply_source
, reply_date
.
- Product Handle: The
handle
is the URL part of the product in your Shopify store. Ensure each review has the correct product handle by following these steps to find your product handle.
Import Your Review Data
- In the Manage Reviews section, click on Import Reviews.
- Upload your CSV file by clicking on Add a review file. Select the file you exported and modified from the other app.
Check and Sync Your Products
- Before completing the import, use the Sync Products feature to ensure all product data is up-to-date. This will help avoid any errors related to incorrect or outdated product handles.
Finalize the Import
- Once your file is uploaded and synced, click Save to complete the import process.
- The imported reviews will now appear on your Shopify store, integrated seamlessly with your existing customer feedback.
Tips for a Successful Import:
- Data Compatibility: Make sure the CSV file format matches the Vital Review Template. If your file from the other app has different headers or columns, adjust them to fit the Vital template.
- Product Handles: Ensure each review is linked to the correct product by verifying the
handle
field. Follow our guide on finding product handles. - Review Images: If you’re importing reviews with images, ensure the file paths are correctly included in the
review_images
field. - Backup Data: Always keep a backup of your original reviews file in case you need to re-import or correct any issues.
By following these steps, you can effortlessly import customer reviews from other platforms or apps into The Vital, enhancing your store’s reputation and encouraging future customer engagement.
